New Singers, (05-02-2011 www.singersroom.com)

Artist Profile: Krys Ivory

Krys Ivory grew up surrounded by musical influences, the most special being her father Pastor Clay, who ran his own ministry on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood. Singing in the church choir at a young age, Krys learned to cultivate and perfect her talent by praising her creator and friend, Jesus Christ. At the age of 4, young Krys would sing with her churches Gospel choir and also perform for her father’s ministry.

Later, she took her talent outside the church by performing in talent shows and everywhere else she had an opportunity to showcase her talents. She was able to win many competitions. Not only was she a talented singer, but she was also blessed with the gifts of writing, dancing, drawing, and acting. She used these gifts to their fullest capacity by performing wherever she could. Her mother, Betty, worked at the Boys and Girls Club of America in Pasadena where little Krys could always be seen running around, and eventually she would perform in many talent shows there as well. It’s also where she would write and perform her songs with her friends. Some of her influences in music are Truth Hurts, Teena Marie, SWV, and Cece Winans. She is currently taking her singing to the next level up with the help of talented producer, Dem Jointz. So far she has had the privilege to work with Next Selections own Ryan Leslie, Danity Kane, Bizzy Bone, Bangloose & several Los Angeles based highly buzzed artist. Krys also has rotation with the catchy single “My Life by Problem ft. Krys Ivory” on Power 106, KDay, and she also can be heard on KJLH. Krys has just finished her mix tape/ street album called “Ask about Me!!!” She is going to radio with a commercial single and will continue to push her campaign independently until label comes along. She plans to collaborate with more artists in the future, as well as to continue growth in success as she lives out her dreams as a solo R&B artist.
